I Am That Warrior

Nearly 250 years ago, a few dozen people signed a document establishing a new way of life, guaranteed for all those willing to uphold its ideals. As Americans, we often focus on its opening lines, stating that all people are created equal. But perhaps we should place equal emphasis on the last line, which reads:

"And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

The Declaration of Independence stems from a group of like-minded individuals who had each others' backs. It's about community. As we celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s birth, we want to take a moment to thank all of you who make what we do at the Navy SEAL Foundation possible.

While a select few answer the call to defend our country and the freedoms we enjoy, it’s crucial to remember that all of us can be warriors in the larger team that answers the call to support them.
